Masters of Social Dance Intensive Chapter 1
Soul Ballroom Dance Studio 76 Nathan Lane N Plymouth, Minnesota 55441 July 24th - 26th, 2026
Gui Prada is coming to Minnesota to offer his Master's of Social Dance curriculum for Brazilian Zouk!
"What is enough for a meaningful dance experience?"
"How much someone knows in terms of movements, doesn't make them a great social dancer."
This intensive contains roughly twice the content of a typical zouk weekender and is more specialized and cohesive than training offered at a large congress or festival.
MOSD is an immersive Brazilian Zouk training experience designed to develop the essential Traits of a great social dancer. It brings forth a training system developed around the principles of collaboration and horizontal learning, aiming to study technique as a tool to improve connection and social dancing skills. It’s a comprehensive system for understanding the deeper magic of partner dancing: how you perceive it, how it feels, how it resonates, and how it can evolve.
Inspired by the spirit of RPG adventures, MOSD offers dancers a structured yet playful approach to social dance training, providing ways to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and discover their areas of excellence.
During MOSD, the training is simultaneously individual and collective. You and your fellow dancers are not just students; you are explorers, party members, and co-creators, remaining together for the entire training. Your strengths, curiosities, and goals shape the practice, with Traits, Foundations, Movements, Skills, and Titles guiding your development.
The training includes access to the MOSD Chapter 1 PDF document, with graphically annotated text - 63 pages!!!

These are the basic structures taught in a beginner’s level class.

About Gui Prada
Gui started his partner dance journey in 2004. In 2006, his intense training began at the Jaime Aroxa Dance Studio in Rio de Janeiro, where he studied for 6 years, and since then, dance has been in his life.
He trained in several partner dance modalities, including Bolero, Samba de Gafieira, Soltinho, Forró, Tango, and Brazilian Zouk, learning from remarkable teachers in Brazil who always took a multidisciplinary approach to teaching dance. Therefore, Gui developed an understanding of partner dance that goes beyond the specifics of each technique.
Over time, Gui focused on how to create and enhance comfort in the dance and use the basic steps to their maximum. In 2017, Gui moved to Washington, DC, and started his career as a local and international Brazilian Zouk Instructor.
Since then, Gui developed special workshops called “The Universe Behind the Hug”, Parts I and II, Finding Zouk, Embrace Zouk Weekender, Embrace Zouk Online, Partner Dancing through the Eyes of Non-Violent Communication, and the Leaders Intensive Training, which together toured 30+ cities around the US and the world. Today, Gui is based in Washington, DC, US, developing the local community with regular, weekly, and progressive classes. He became a reference in the execution of clean, comfortable fundamentals and its understanding of close connection, both from a physical and mental perspective. Gui is also one of the regular instructors of Alex de Carvalho’s MAC program, where he teaches new instructors how to learn, talk about, and teach connection.
